Job summary

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is seeking a lifeguard to oversee student safety in and around the pool and related areas, under the supervision of the Athletic Director. You will reduce hazards, provide immediate care or rescue when needed, and respond to life-threatening situations.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe environment for all users, applying lifesaving techniques learned in certification, enforcing pool rules, and knowing emergency procedures.

Qualifications

• Certified lifeguard with First Aid, CPR, and AED training.
• Strong people skills and effective communication are required.
• Ability to handle difficult situations calmly and effectively.

Description: Under the supervision of the Athletic Director, the lifeguard is primarily responsible for overall student safety in and out of the water. The lifeguard will ensure the safety of all students by eliminating/reducing hazards and hazardous behavior; providing immediate care and/or rescue when necessary and responding to life‑threatening situations.

Minimum Qualifications
