Qualifications

  • Record and maintain chemical readings for the pool.

Job description

The Aquatics Team is responsible for ensuring the pool area is safe and well maintained to meet the needs of our members and participants.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise the aquatic area, using lifeguarding best practices, and provide a safe environment for all participants.
  2. Ensure daily cleaning of the pool deck, pool, whirlpool, and equipment.
  3. Inspect equipment daily and report any that need replacement or repair.
  4. Ensure all pool equipment is in good repair.
  5. Record and maintain accurate chemical readings and reports for the pool and whirlpool, following Baltimore City Health Department guidelines and League supervision.
  6. Assist the Manager of Wellness and other pool staff with daily operations of the aquatic center.
  7. Advocate for The League and people with disabilities.
  8. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Wellness Center.
  9. Demonstrate the 5 Core Values of The League: Accountability, Participant Focus, Quality, Independence, and Mutual Respect.

Training Required:

  • Lifeguard Certification
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications
  • League Annual Trainings
  • Hepatitis Vaccine Qualifications (series)

Requirements:

  • Current lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
  • Excellent communication and social skills.
  • Experience working with the disabled population is preferred.
