The Aquatics Team is responsible for ensuring the pool area is safe and well maintained to meet the needs of our members and participants.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the aquatic area, using lifeguarding best practices, and provide a safe environment for all participants.
- Ensure daily cleaning of the pool deck, pool, whirlpool, and equipment.
- Inspect equipment daily and report any that need replacement or repair.
- Ensure all pool equipment is in good repair.
- Record and maintain accurate chemical readings and reports for the pool and whirlpool, following Baltimore City Health Department guidelines and League supervision.
- Assist the Manager of Wellness and other pool staff with daily operations of the aquatic center.
- Advocate for The League and people with disabilities.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Manager, Wellness Center.
- Demonstrate the 5 Core Values of The League: Accountability, Participant Focus, Quality, Independence, and Mutual Respect.
Training Required:
- Lifeguard Certification
- CPR and First Aid Certifications
- League Annual Trainings
- Hepatitis Vaccine Qualifications (series)
Requirements:
- Current lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Experience working with the disabled population is preferred.
