Job summary

The City of Ballwin in Missouri is seeking a part-time lifeguard to help maintain a safe aquatic environment for pool patrons. You will report to the Aquatic Manager and Pool Supervisors and enforce park rules while keeping facilities clean and safe.

Required lifeguard training (American Red Cross) with CPR/AED and First Aid; training available. Must be at least 15 years old and able to lift 25 lbs. Flexible mornings, evenings, and weekends are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and First Aid, CPR/AED for Lifeguards, Bloodborne Pathogens Training and Waterpark Lifeguard Training.
• Lifeguard certification and related safety training required.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe aquatic environment for the public.
• Enforce rules and regulations governing pool patrons.
• Follow Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid and emergency action plan procedures.
• Attend monthly in-service training.
• Maintain and clean pool, deck, concessions, locker rooms, showers, rest rooms.
• Present a professional image through dress, behavior and attitude.
• Respond to patron needs courteously and report comments to the on-duty manager.
• Assist with Parks & Recreation programs and events as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
