Job summary

City of Wentzville, Missouri, is seeking a part-time Lifeguard at the Wentzville Rec Center (WREC) in Wentzville, MO. The role focuses on delivering respectful service, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining a positive environment for patrons at the pool facility.

Required CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, plus lifeguard certification before opening to the public. Prior experience is preferred and basic MS Office skills are useful for administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, professional, positive service in all interactions between co-workers, internal external customers, community members, and the public at large.
• Maintain a positive and productive environment ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, goals and objectives of the City, Department and Division.
• Works to prevent accidents and eliminate hazards in and around the pool and deck areas to provide an enjoyable experience for the public.
• Respond quickly to emergency situations and administers first aid to accident victims, when needed.
• Monitor pool zones in assigned areas address behavioral infractions or safety concerns.
• Educate patrons and informs them of the purpose of and need for rules and regulations.
• Enforce rules and policies courteously but firmly.
• Attend mandatory in-service training.
• Clean pool deck, stainless steel, restrooms, guard office, and vacuum pool.
• Provide information and assistance to patrons.
• Provide private, semi-private, or group swimming lessons.
• Work collaboratively with peers and supervisors on creating, developing, and maintaining a sense of teamwork among lifeguards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
