Job summary

iRhythm Technologies seeks a Lifecycle Engineering Co-Op to support electrical PCBA design, embedded firmware, and manufacturing tooling software across product lifecycles. You will collaborate with electrical, firmware, and software engineers to resolve field and factory issues, manage obsolescence, and improve yield and reliability.

This full-time, six-month internship runs January through June 2027 in Cypress, CA.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Science Engineering or related fields.
• Basic understanding of PCBA design principles, embedded systems, embedded software development (C/C++), and hardware/software integration.
• Familiar with lab test equipment and hands-on lab work (fixture builds, test protocols).
• Detail-oriented with strong troubleshooting and analytical thinking.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prototype and test electrical PCB components with prototype firmware and fixture software.
• Support software updates to manufacturing equipment and test systems to improve yield and reliability.
• Support embedded software development ensuring hardware compatibility and IEC 62304/cybersecurity compliance.
• Support V&V activities with plans, protocols, and automated regression suites per IEC 62304 and SOPs.
• Create and maintain drawings, specifications, test methods, and reports for design control and regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams on requirements and test plans.
• Assist with failure analysis of production components and field returns.
• Contribute ideas for future product improvements or IP.
• Perform lab equipment setup/maintenance as needed.
