Job summary

Parkview Health Services in Buffalo, NY is seeking a LifeView Pharmacy Support Specialist to obtain and process prescriptions for the LifeView Program and prepare the pharmacy fulfillment team to dispense and ship medications.

You will conduct provider outreach, assist with program development, answer insurance questions, coordinate onboarding, and support billing and prior authorizations across locations, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Active pharmacy technician licensure in jurisdiction; national certification preferred.
• Experience with pharmacy applications and MS Office.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to provider offices by phone or email to obtain refill information.
• Support timely prescription processing and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Assist with LifeView Program development and workflow improvements.

• Manage incoming faxes and documents; file, fax, copy materials.

• Consolidate shipments and insure packages via UPS/FedEx.

Position Summary

The LifeView Pharmacy Support Specialist performs functions to obtain and process prescriptions for the LifeView Program and to prepare the pharmacy fulfillment team to dispense and ship medications, while working within the limits of established policies.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conducts proactive outreach to provider offices by phone or email to obtain prescription refill information, resolve refill-related issues, and support timely prescription processing while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
• Participates in the ongoing development, implementation, coordination, tracking and improvement of LifeView Program as it evolves.
• Serves as a knowledgeable resource for offices and internal teams by answering insurance, coverage, and workflow questions related to LifeView Program processes.
• Supports a professional onboarding experience for referred clinics and providers by assisting with coordination, communication, and implementation of LifeView Program workflows.
• Supports LifeView Program workflows across additional locations, including data entry, benefit investigations, coordination of billing information, and prior authorization initiation and follow-up.
• Monitors and triages incoming faxes/documents and process incoming orders. File, fax, and copy various materials as needed.
• Cross-trains in standard pharmacy workflows to provide flexible support and assist pharmacy operations as needed.
• Contacts patients to schedule medication delivery or pickup and follows any accreditation-required documentation processes applicable to the specific location.
• Understands metrics as they relate to sales and service in the pharmacy to ensure continuous improvement, using best practices and making sound business decisions for the Program.
• Consolidates clinic shipments and ensures packages are appropriately insured, based on value, when sent via UPS/FedEx.

• Experience in handling claim rejections and working through the prior authorization process to ensure timely approvals and successful resolution of issues.

Education/Experience Requirements

Active and in good standing pharmacy technician licensure through Board of Pharmacy for state(s) of jurisdiction, where required. National certification highly preferred.
