Greensboro Science Center in Greensboro, NC is hiring an advanced Life Support Systems and Water Quality Technician or Engineer for the Aquatics Department. The role supports tank maintenance, quality testing, and coordination with Aquarists to ensure optimal water chemistry for diverse exhibits.

The position reports to the Aquatics Curator, involves 40-hour weeks (some weekends/holidays), and offers full benefits. Experience with life support devices and laboratory analyses is preferred.

Competenze

• Strong understanding of aquarium water quality parameters and their relation to life support systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot life support systems including pumps, ozone generators, and filtration.
• Knowledge of plumbing, mechanical systems, and construction basics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Mansioni

• Maintain life support exhibits and daily operation of systems.
• Conduct water quality tests and record results.
• Assist with design, installation, and maintenance of closed systems and equipment.
• Maintain chemical inventories and safety data sheets.
• Respond to facility emergencies and weather events.
