Job summary

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is seeking an experienced Life Support Engineer to maintain aquatic animal life support systems and assist with LSS operation and upgrades. The role focuses on daily maintenance, proactive issue detection, and adherence to safety standards across the Aquatic Sciences and Animal Care teams.

The ideal candidate will manage pumps, filtration, ozone, UV, and chemical dosing systems, ensuring reliable life support for aquatic exhibits.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical equations using geometry and algebra.
• Knowledge of maintaining closed loop filtration systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily inspection and maintenance of Life Support Systems (LSS) equipment.
• Assist with new LSS system builds and modifications.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on LSS equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components of LSS.
• Coordinate with animal care and other departments as needed.
• Follow all Six Flags policies, safety standards, and MSDS guidelines.
