Job summary

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, CA seeks an experienced Life Support Engineer to maintain aquatic animal exhibits and life support systems (LSS).

You will oversee daily inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and system modifications, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role requires coordination with Aquatic Sciences and Animal Care teams and possible shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to work varied shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Knowledge of maintaining closed loop filtration systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair Life Support Systems (pumps, motors, valves, piping, ozone, UV).
• Willingness to work outdoors/indoors in extreme weather; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily inspection and maintenance of LSS equipment (pumps, filtration, ozone, UV, chemical dosing, controls).
• Assist with new LSS projects and modifications to existing systems.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs of LSS equipment.
• Collaborate with Aquatic Sciences and Animal Care Departments; participate in cross-training.
• Report findings to Supervisors and adhere to Six Flags procedures and safety standards.
