Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an experienced educator to plan, coordinate, and deliver life support education for clinicians and staff. You will work with teams to update curricula and ensure alignment with AHA and AAP guidelines, while maintaining accurate LMS records and materials.

The role emphasizes adult learning principles, ongoing education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary groups to drive ongoing professional development and patient safety across facilities in Florida.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider and instructor certification.
  • Maintain current ACLS and/or PALS Instructor certification (advanced courses only).
  • Two years of relevant work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates life support education and skill validation.
  • Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs.
  • Provides general and population-specific education to support safe, efficient practitioners.
  • Maintains and uses the Learning Management System (LMS) for educational activities.
  • Keeps class rosters and records in line with AHA and Orlando Health guidelines.
  • Participates in committees and educational initiatives that support organizational goals.

Plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates life support education and skill validation for team members, learners, and physicians to ensure current knowledge and practices align with American Heart Association (AHA) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) standards.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
  • Ensures adult learning principles are integrated into all programs.
  • Provides general and population-specific education to support safe, efficient, and competent practitioners.
  • Demonstrates familiarity and competency with the current Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Participates in specialty-specific, site-specific, or corporate committees and/or educational initiatives that influence organizational strategic imperatives.
  • Cleans, decontaminates, and maintains equipment in accordance with OH and the AHA safety standards.
  • Demonstrates professional accountability through involvement in multidisciplinary organizations.
  • Facilitates professional development of team members through the utilization of educational curriculum.
  • Assesses internal and external reported data and evaluation feedback to determine future educational opportunities that impact professional practice gaps and support organizational initiatives.
  • Provides educational materials, curriculum, and resources to maintain ongoing knowledge and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes critical thinking and knowledge assessments to outline educational development plans for team members.
  • Adheres to all American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) rules and regulations.
  • Provides class rosters and records in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) and Orlando Health guidelines.
  • Identifies and supports learner's life support needs and adjusts teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Identifies and validates appropriate CEUs.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
Other Related Functions
  • Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
  • Serves as a liaison and informal consultant to other Orlando Health departments and committees regarding educational efforts.
  • Participates in process improvement activities as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Creates and maintains an active membership through the American Heart Association's Instructor Network.
  • Distributes and administers AHA approved examinations, providing appropriate remediation and re-testing as applicable.
  • Participates in ongoing education and updates as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Training
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification
