Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Teach AHA Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Life Support courses.
• Facilitate student assessments, demonstrations, and coursework management.
• Communicate effectively with team members and students.
• Teach certification classes effectively and with enthusiasm to engage students.
• Facilitate demonstrations, testing, questions, and post-course roster/workflow documentation.
• Submit all required documentation timely and manage equipment setup/teardown.
• Communicate effectively with AHA Coordinator, Clinical Education Director, fellow instructors, and UFHCF Team Members.

Responsibilities

• Teach American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Life Support (PALS) training courses.
• Coordinate scheduling and class instruction opportunities for the AHA Instructor, under the direction of the UFHCF Corporate Director of Clinical Education.
• Provide high-quality instruction while demonstrating professionalism and accountability.
• Teach AHA certification classes effectively and with enthusiasm to engage students.
• Facilitate video presentations, instructor lectures, skills demonstrations, testing students, answering questions, remediating when appropriate, and completing post-course rosters and paperwork.
• Physically demonstrate correct mannequin skills (infant, child, adult) on the ground/floor and on a table.
• Submit all required documentation timely.
• Set up, clean, and store equipment appropriately and independently.
• Communicate effectively with AHA Coordinator, Clinical Education Director, fellow instructors, and UFHCF Team Members.

This is a PRN Day Shift position.

Qualifications

• Education
• High School diploma or equivalent

• Licensure/Certification/Registration
• Current license as Paramedic in the State of Florida required OR Current license as an LPN or RN in the State of Florida
• American Heart Association provider certification required for:
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)

• American Heart Association instructor certification required for:
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support (PALS)

• Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be computer literate and have ability to use email, and online programs regarding training classes and documentation.
• Minimum 2 years American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS instructor certification required.
• Minimum 2 years recent pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS) response required.
