Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate in Special Education
• Experience teaching elementary students with special needs as per curriculum knowledge

Responsibilities

• Teach life skills to elementary students with special needs.
• Develop and implement curriculum plans with written evidence of preparation.
• Adapt lessons for individual student differences and TEA guidelines.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet diverse student needs.
• Cooperate with staff to plan instructional goals and methods.
• Assist in selecting instructional books, equipment, and materials.
• Promote student growth and provide progress reports as required.
• Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Take necessary safety precautions and supervise students as assigned.
• Participate in staff meetings and committees as required.
