BASIS Leander is seeking a qualified Special Education & Life Skills Teacher to join our bright, passionate team. You will deliver IEP-aligned instruction, collaborate with general education teachers, and support students under BASIS’ model to foster academic growth.

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree and Texas Special Education certification with fingerprint clearance. A Master’s degree is highly desirable, and strong classroom management is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Special Education certification and fingerprint clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct Services: Provide small-group or one-on-one instruction to meet IEP goals.
• IEP Management: Write, develop, and update IEPs; participate in meetings; ensure compliance with timelines and regulations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Progress Monitoring: Collect and report data on IEP goals; maintain accurate documentation.
• Behavioral & Academic Support: Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to student needs.
• Team Collaboration: Play a pivotal role in establishing the school's culture, contributing to school-wide initiatives, and collaborating with fellow teachers to create a cohesive and supportive academic community.
• Professional Development: Actively participate in professional learning opportunities and school-wide meetings, continually seeking to improve instructional practices.
• Student Support: Serve as an advisor or mentor, guiding students in their academic and personal growth within the BASIS model.
