Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree or 48 college hours OR pass Para-Pro Test.
• Experience with children at risk preferred.
• Experience as an at-risk teaching assistant valuable.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to the special education teacher.
• Assists in teaching daily living and social skills.
• Supervises and assists during class and between classes.
• Lifts up to 45 pounds as needed in classroom activities.
• Collects student data and tracks progress.
• Tutores students in basic reading and math in small groups.
• Maintains confidentiality and supports behavior management.
• Assists with clerical duties and field trips planning.
