Job summary

Pennridge School District in Perkasie, PA is seeking a Personal Care Assistant - Life Skills Support. The role provides direct student assistance to help access curriculum and facilities, including physical support and adaptive materials.

Eligible candidates must meet state credential requirements and pass clearances. The position is full-time (10-month) with a 60-day probationary period and a salary in accordance with the PESPA collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills to relate to students with varying disabilities.
• Clear communication and good judgment when coordinating with teachers and staff.
• Ability to follow directions and implement instructional strategies under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing specially designed instruction per IEP team.
• Complete forms for Project ACCESS per Pupil Services guidance.
• Communicate progress with teachers, administrators, and other staff.
• Observe and record student data and share with IEP team.
• Attend IEP and staff meetings for the identified student as requested.
• Assist in physical, personal self-care and self-help needs of identified student when required.
• Support staff during supervision, small group instruction, and emergency drills.
• Assist in range-of-motion and stretching activities when directed by OT/PT/doctor.
• Apply CPI techniques as needed; training provided by district.
• Maintain student confidentiality at all times.
