Job summary

Warden School District Elementary School in Warden, WA is seeking a Paraeducator II for the Elementary Special Education Life Skills Room (One year, 2026-27). The paraeducator will assist the teacher with planning and delivering instruction and supervise students in various settings, including the afternoon bus route.

Qualifications

• The special education paraeducator is required to have the equivalent of two years of college or be willing to take and pass a competency test.
• The assistant should be proficient or willing to learn computer skills and keyboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist individual students and small groups of identified special education students in instructional/vocational activities.
• Assist students on afternoon bus route.
• Assist in teaching academic skills.
• Assist the teacher in preparation, maintenance, assembling and returning instructional materials.
• Assist with or independently tend to the hygiene needs of students, including diaper changing, toileting, and feeding students with diverse needs.
• Assist in securing, preparing and operating instructional media and technology as directed by the professional staff.
• Assist in gathering materials relevant for student use as directed by the professional staff.
• Assist in gathering and organizing data and information as directed.
• Assist in preparation of schedules, charts and rosters for special education students as directed by professional staff.
• Assist in data collection, recording grades, and related information on the computer as directed by the professional staff.
• Assist in maintaining various files as directed by the professional staff.
• Assist in the preparation, distribution and collection of forms needed by the professional staff.
• Supervise special education students in classroom, learning center, playground and lunchroom; escort students from class if necessary.
