Starting immediately, the position offers 6.5 hours per day, 180 days per year, with annual pay in the $23.15 to $26.65 per hour range plus potential extra credits-based pay.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have an AA degree OR 72 quarter college credits OR 48 semester college credits OR a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Professional Educator Standards Board.
• Must attach unofficial transcript proving AA degree or equivalent to the application. Official transcripts of all levels of education, including high school, required within 30 days of hire.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position.
• Must pass a basic skills test.
• Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within 30 days of hire and yearly thereafter.
• Must pass a background check, which includes employee paid fingerprinting.
• CPI training must be obtained at the next available opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to life skills student(s) under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher(s).
• Follow data collection, classroom rules, and instruction as directed by the teacher(s).
• Take data on student progress and complete required paperwork to maintain compliance.
• Assist in supervision and control of students to promote a safe learning climate.
• Perform duties within Kennewick School District policies and procedures.
