Job summary

The Institute for the Redesign of Learning (IRL) is seeking a compassionate Adult Instructor to join the Transitions & Adult Services team in South Pasadena, CA. This part-time role (25 hrs/week) focuses on teaching daily living and vocational skills to adults, with a focus on independence and community engagement.

Responsibilities include individualized instruction, client progress tracking, transportation to activities, and collaboration with the team as needs evolve.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate’s degree or college coursework preferred.
• Spanish speaking is required or strongly preferred.
• Experience or interest in working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Strong communication and technology skills (Microsoft Office, Zoom, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Teach daily living and vocational skills in classroom and community settings.
• Provide individualized and group instruction, supervision, and support.
• Transport clients to volunteer sites and community activities.
• Track and report client progress using Google Drive and Class Dojo.
• Collaborate with the team and adapt to program needs as they evolve.
