Job summary

Spruce Mountain High School, part of the Spruce Mountain School District (RSU #73), is seeking an Educational Technician I for Life Skills to support students with diverse academic, functional, and behavioral needs. The role involves collaboration with the special education team, implementing IEPs and behavior plans, and delivering tailored academic programming in consultation with teachers.

Applicants must pursue Maine DOE Educational Technician I authorization; fingerprinting/CHRC are required

Qualifications

• Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as an Educational Technician I through the Maine Department of Education.
• Maine State Law requires fingerprinting and CHRC for the Department of Education.
• Experience working with students who have social and emotional challenges is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the special education team to manage student behaviors and implement IEPs and behavior plans.
• Deliver academic programming in consultation with the special education teacher, in small groups or one-on-one.
• Support students in both regular and special education settings, including personal care as needed.
