Job summary

New Start Supported Living Services seeks a dependable Life Skills Coach to provide one-on-one support to a young adult with developmental disabilities in the Turlock area. This part-time role focuses on mentorship, structure, and guiding independence while building daily living skills.

Qualifications

• Male applicants required for this client assignment.
• Patient, dependable, consistent, and encouraging.
• Strong communication and leadership; able to provide structure, reminders, and redirection.
• Ability to establish and maintain clear professional boundaries.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• Must have at least 1 year of disability support experience.
• Must pass DOJ Live Scan Background Check.
• Must have a valid CA driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• Must have CPR and First Aid certification.
• Negative TB clearance and recent physical.
• Complete hiring, training, and onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teach and reinforce independent living skills
• Assist with cleaning and organizing the individual's living space
• Teach and reinforce laundry skills and routines
• Help establish consistent daily and weekly routines
• Assist with time management, planning, and organization
• Provide reminders and redirection to stay focused
• Break larger responsibilities into manageable steps
• Support employment goals and development of workplace skills
• Assist with maintaining focus and completing work-related responsibilities
• Encourage healthy community involvement and age-appropriate activities
• Support independence and personal responsibility development
• Provide positive mentorship while maintaining professional boundaries
• Complete required documentation per agency requirements
