Job summary

ACCESS Life Instructor Assistant is a role focused on empowering adults with developmental disabilities through hands-on support in vocational training, community engagement, leisure activities, and independent living skills. You will work closely with the Lead Instructor to implement daily programs and ensure participant safety and progression.

The position emphasizes collaboration, compassionate communication, and adaptability to meet diverse participant needs, with emphasis on documentation

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a similar role or with adults with developmental disabilities.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data to document participant progress.
• Ability to support behavior plan development and implementation.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide program support across vocational training, community integration, leisure, and independent living.
• Prepare materials, set up activities, and assist participants during instruction.
• Communicate professionally with the Lead Instructor and team.
• Assist with data collection and documentation of participant goals and progress.
• Support participant safety on campus, in the community, and during transportation.
• Transport participants as needed within safety guidelines.
• Assist with funding paperwork and attendance logs.
