Job summary

Fute seeks an experienced Patent Prosecution Specialist to support U.S. and international patent matters in life sciences. You will manage filings, IDSs, paperwork, and client reporting for domestic and global clients.

The role requires 2–5+ years in U.S. patent prosecution within an IP law firm, strong organization, communication, and time-management skills, and familiarity with MS Office and docketing tools. International work and AppColl exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; science or legal studies preferred.
  • 2–5+ years of U.S. patent prosecution experience in an IP law firm.
  • Experience with USPTO filings, IDSs, docketing, and patent maintenance.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software.
  • Experience with international prosecution; AppColl is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and coordinate U.S. and foreign patent prosecution filings.
  • Prepare and file IDSs, assignments, declarations, powers of attorney, and related documents.
  • Support patent prosecution, maintenance matters, USPTO correspondence, and client reporting.
  • Coordinate with clients, foreign associates, attorneys, and the USPTO.
  • Manage deadlines and maintain accurate electronic matter files.
  • Proactively identify issues and help improve prosecution workflows and legal operations.
