Job summary

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking an experienced Patent Prosecution Specialist to support sophisticated U.S. and international patent prosecution matters for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, university, and life sciences clients. The role involves owning an active prosecution portfolio with minimal ramp-up.

Responsibilities include filing U.S. and foreign patent applications, IDSs, assignments, and related documents, as well as maintaining docketing and meeting deadlines with clients and foreign

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of U.S. patent prosecution procedures, USPTO filings, and docketing workflows.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage numerous competing deadlines.
• Professional communication skills and experience working with clients and foreign associates.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned matters, and collaborate with attorneys and legal support staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and coordinate U.S. and foreign patent prosecution filings.
• Prepare and file IDSs, assignments, declarations, powers of attorney, and other formal documents.
• Support patent maintenance matters, client reporting, USPTO correspondence, and related prosecution workflows.
• Coordinate with clients, foreign associates, attorneys, and the USPTO to keep matters progressing accurately and on time.
• Maintain electronic matter files and proactively monitor complex patent portfolios for potential issues and upcoming deadlines.
