Job Description Summary
The Life Sciences Instructor will teach general biology ( BIO ) or anatomy and physiology (A&P) courses. This individual will be responsible for teaching assignments, maintaining records, and administering/grading assessments and examinations.
Depending on department needs each semester, this position will be online or in-person (day or evening classes).

Required Minimum Qualification:
- Master’s degree in biology or life sciences-related field with at least 18 graduate hours in biology or life sciences-related coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous academic teaching experience at a community college or university
- Experience teaching hybrid, online, and/or multimodal courses
- Experience with distance learning technologies
- Experience with multi-cultural pedagogy and demonstration of developing multi-cultural curricula

Teaching and Learning
- Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department Chairperson and approved by the Dean.
- Assume responsibility for accurately maintaining all required college records, including attendance and grade reports.
- Construct, administer, and grade examinations.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
- Adhere to the departmental course guidelines and ensure that content includes program, state, and SACSCOC -approved competencies.
- Assess student learning using appropriate modalities.
- Appropriately utilize learning management system tools as required by the college and/or department.
- Make recommendations to Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
- Incorporate inclusive content and work to eliminate discriminatory and exclusionary content from curriculum.
- Intentionally design learning experiences that extend beyond facilitating classroom instruction and assist students in achieving course, program, and degree outcomes.
