Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a Deployment Lead, Life Sciences, to define and execute how we deliver complex AI systems to Life Sciences customers. Based in NYC with a hybrid work model, you’ll own end-to-end delivery, align with customer workflows, and drive adoption and ROI across multiple teams.

You will embed with customers to map workflows, ship components on time, and lead readiness and change activities, ensuring measurable impact and scalable solutions in a high-trust environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of customer-facing technical delivery leadership in Life Sciences.
• Proven track record delivering high-stakes engagements with AI components.
• Able to navigate ambiguity and translate strategy into execution details.
• Capable of mapping customer workflows, constraints, and architectures to shipped systems.
• Strategic thinker who identifies patterns and scalable solutions from deployments.
• Strong technical fluency and ability to discuss architectures with executives.
• Experience shipping AI/LLM systems and translating trade-offs for business leaders.
• Willingness to be onsite with customers (approx. 25–50%).

Responsibilities

• Own the technical delivery plan for multiple interdependent workstreams with milestones and acceptance criteria.
• Run day-to-day engineering execution across OpenAI FDE and customer teams.
• Embed with customer teams to land production deployments and drive adoption.
• Partner with Product and Research so components land in time to support deployment goals.
• Codify solution patterns and extract reusable field signals to improve products.
• Own value cases, KPIs, and post-deployment measurement for exec sponsors.
• Shape engagement strategy with Life Sciences customers.
