Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Taylor, Texas, seeks a Life Safety Systems Technician to install, operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot life safety systems including TGMS, flame and fire detection, chemical spill alarms, and emergency shutdown controls. You will perform inspections, certifications, and sensor calibrations, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and state codes.

The role requires hands-on work with low-voltage wiring, gas detection instrumentation, and PLC/DCS interfaces,

Qualifications

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Fire Protection, or related preferred.
2-5 years of experience in life safety, fire protection systems, industrial, semiconductor or mission-critical environments preferred.
Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements (federal/state/local codes).

Responsibilities

Support daily operation and monitoring of life safety systems including fire alarm, fire suppression, toxic gas monitoring and related systems.
Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors for inspection, testing, maintenance and repairs of life safety systems.
Interpret, apply and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state and local codes (IFC, IBC, NFPA, etc.).
Lead or support life safety design efforts in coordination with project teams and subcontractors.
Identify abnormalities, alarms and deficiencies and elevate per established protocols.
Support hazard identification, risk assessments and mitigation strategies for life safety system performance and risk reduction.
Assist with audits, inspections, interface and documentation required for life safety operations.
Work hours: A Shift – Sunday through Tuesday (6:45am – 7:15pm) with alternating Wednesdays.
