Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm / Life Safety Systems Engineer to lead life-safety systems across semiconductor construction projects.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years in fire alarm, fire detection, or life-safety systems.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 101, IFC, IBC, and applicable local codes; translate requirements into practical solutions.
• Experience reviewing fire alarm plans, operation sequences, cause-and-effect documentation, submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs.
• Experience evaluating battery calculations, power-supply loading, notification-appliance voltage drop, system loading and capacity, access control, and suppression systems.
• Experience supporting installation, functional testing, commissioning, acceptance testing, turnover, and communicating technical recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance for consultants, contractors, and vendors on fire alarm, fire detection, emergency communication, and life-safety systems.
• Examine drawings, specifications, risers, wiring diagrams, device layouts, calculations, sequences of operation, and submittals.
• Evaluate builds for code compliance, constructability, maintainability, operability, system capacity, and integration with related systems.
• Coordinate and resolve technical issues with construction teams, vendors, Facilities Operations, EHS/fire protection, engineering fields, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, impairment planning, phased cutovers, system recovery, and turnover while tracking risks.
