Job summary

Micron Technology in Boise seeks a Fire Alarm / Life Safety Systems Engineer to lead technical decisions across construction projects, ensuring safe, code-compliant systems from design through turnover. You will evaluate drawings, submittals, and sequences of operation, coordinate with vendors and facilities, and support testing, commissioning, and system recovery while tracking technical risks.

Qualifications

At least 4 years of engineering experience with 2+ years in fire alarm or life-safety systems.
Knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70/NEC, NFPA 101 and local codes.
Experience reviewing fire alarm plans, sequences, submittals, and RFIs.
Experience calculating power, battery loads, and access control integration.
Ability to explain technical recommendations and work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance for fire alarm, life-safety, and related systems.
Review drawings, risers, wiring diagrams, and submittals for compliance.
Evaluate builds for code compliance, maintainability, and operability.
Coordinate with construction teams, vendors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
Support testing, commissioning, impairment planning, and turnover.
