Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to coordinate and perform inspections, maintenance, and testing of fire protection and life safety systems at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. You will supervise vendor activities, logs, and compliance with NFPA standards.

The role requires an AS (or equivalent) and a NYS Class D Driver's license, with 1–3 years' related experience. Daily work is on-site with a day shift schedule in Facilities.

Qualifications

• AAS in Fire Protection Technology or high school diploma with 1–3 years of related experience.
• NYS Class "D" Driver's License is required.
• Knowledge of NY fire/building codes and NFPA standards preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience with fire alarm systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory and documentation of safety equipment.
• Coordinates shutdown/restoration of fire protection and detection systems.
• Performs limited troubleshooting, repairs, and testing of life safety equipment.
• Conducts fire drills at assigned sites.
• Inspects Environment of Care, life safety, SOC, and follows up on corrective actions.
• Coordinates Fire Marshall, Fire Department inspections and tours.
• Tracks deficiencies and corrective action reports.
• Assists in developing plans and staff training for new facilities.
