Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Associate / Life Safety Consultant in the US - Energy Commissioning group. The role focuses on life safety and fire protection in the built environment, working with senior engineers to design systems and perform code research.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in engineering or architecture, up to 3 years of relevant experience, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in the engineering or architecture disciplines required.
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection and Life Safety.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Suite encouraged.
• Experience with CONTAM, Pyrosim, FDS, and/or PathFinder desirable.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and development of Life Safety and Fire Protection systems.
• Contribute to plan reviews and technical reports.
• Support egress design and code research.
• Assist in smoke control, fire-resistant construction analysis, and performance-based design.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and construction professionals.
