Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a junior Fire Protection/ Life Safety Associate within the SLS division in Florida to assist in designing Life Safety systems, conduct code research, and prepare analyses under supervision.

The role targets engineers or architects with 0–3 years' experience; EIT preferred, and familiarity with AutoCAD, REVIT, Bluebeam, and Microsoft tools is beneficial. The team emphasizes collaboration, quality, and ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in the engineering or architecture disciplines required.
• 0 to 3 years of relevant experience in Fire Protection and Life Safety.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) Certification preferred.
• Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, REVIT, and Microsoft Suite encouraged.
• Experience with CONTAM, Pyrosim, FDS, and PathFinder desirable.
• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Associates will work with Senior Fire Protection Engineers to design and develop Life Safety and Fire Protection systems.
• Projects will focus on adherence to quality standards through plan reviews and technical reports.
• Associates are encouraged to explore building systems and design components involved in developing a safe and code compliant building design.
