Job summary

Northwest Health - La Porte is seeking a Director of the Emergency Department to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. You will guide clinical practice, staffing, education, and quality initiatives while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and integration with hospital goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration with clinical leaders, performance metrics oversight, and readiness for accreditation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required or seven+ years direct experience in lieu of a degree.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• 3-5 years of leadership experience is preferred.
• Experience in coordinating cross-functional teams within a hospital setting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Emergency Department.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to improve care coordination and patient experience.
• Monitor department metrics and drive quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure readiness for regulatory, accreditation, and compliance requirements.
• Direct emergency preparedness planning and disaster response coordination.
• Address patient care concerns and operational disruptions promptly.
• Maintain regular attendance and adherence to policies.
