Job summary

Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is seeking a full-time CHHA to serve participants in Union County, NJ. The role supports in-home health needs under the supervision of a Home Care Coordinator and Registered Nurse, following each participant’s personalized care plan.

Qualified candidates have a NJ CHHA license, a valid driver's license, and at least 1 year of CHHA experience caring for the elderly. Excellent benefits and flexible pay options are included.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Home Health Aide License --New Jersey.
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Safe driving record
• Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Home Care Coordinator/RN, assists participants in the home with duties essential to the patient’s health per the care plan.
• Assist participants in the home following the individualized care plan.

We are excited to be welcoming our first participants into our brand new program at Lutheran Senior LIFE servicing Union County! We currently have a full-time opening for a CHHA. This position pay $19.00/hour. Benefits, Paid Time Off and More being offered!

Under the direction and supervision of the Home Care Coordinator/ Registered Nurse, assists participants in the home with duties essential to the patient’s health in accordance with the patient’s individualized care plan.

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Home Health Aide License --New Jersey
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Safe driving record

Skill(s):

• Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of a home health aide
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance
• Skilled in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public.
• Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly

Medical Clearance:

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
