Job summary

Lutheran Senior LIFE in New Jersey seeks a full-time Home Health Aide (CHHA) to support participants in their homes under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will follow individualized care plans, assist with daily health tasks, and help maintain participants’ well-being and safety.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a NJ CHHA license, a valid driver’s license, and a safe driving record. Excellent communication and independence are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year as CHHA with frail or elderly
• Knowledge of home health care standards and patient safety
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate clearly

We are excited to be welcoming our first participants into our brand new program at Lutheran Senior LIFE servicing Union County! We currently have a full-time opening for a CHHA. This position pay $19.00/hour. Benefits, Paid Time Off and More being offered!

Under the direction and supervision of the Home Care Coordinator/ Registered Nurse, assists participants in the home with duties essential to the patient’s health in accordance with the patient’s individualized care plan.

Basic Qualifications

Education/Training/Certifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Home Health Aide License --New Jersey
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Safe driving record

Skill(s)

• Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of a home health aide
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance
• Skilled in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public.
• Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Experience

Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly

Medical Clearance

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
