Job summary

Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is seeking a full-time CHHA to support elderly participants in their homes across Union County. You will work under the supervision of a Home Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse, assisting with tasks essential to health per the patient care plan.

This role emphasizes compassionate care, safety, and independence in daily activities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Home Health Aide license -- New Jersey required.
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance.
• Safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Home Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse, assists participants in the home with duties essential to the patient’s health in accordance with the individualized care plan.
• Follow the patient care plan and report changes to supervising nurse.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and supportive care for participants.

We are excited to be welcoming our first participants into our brand new program at Lutheran Senior LIFE servicing Union County! We currently have a full-time opening for a CHHA. This position pay $19.00/hour. Benefits, Paid Time Off and More being offered!

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Training/Certifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Home Health Aide License --New Jersey
• Current driver’s license with proof of auto insurance
• Safe driving record

Skill(s):

• Knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques of a home health aide
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
• Knowledge of medical equipment use and maintenance
• Skilled in establishing and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, medical staff and the public.
• Skilled in identifying and recommending problem resolution.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year working as a CHHA with the frail or elderly

Medical Clearance:

Employees must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
