Job summary

Harbor Haven Senior Living Community is seeking an Activities Supervisor (Life Enrichment Supervisor) to lead our residents’ engagement programs. You will plan, implement, and oversee a varied calendar that supports independence, participation, and leadership while collaborating with staff and community partners.

The role emphasizes compassionate communication, staff and volunteer supervision, and ensuring safety and compliance with CPR/First Aid.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; degree preferred in recreation therapy or human services.
• Experience with activities programming for older adults.
• Ability to supervise staff and volunteers.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee the activities program for residents.
• Create and manage daily and monthly calendars with inclusive programs.
• Collaborate with activities staff and community partners.
• Coordinate transportation to events.
• Ensure supplies are ordered and maintained.
• Engage residents in volunteering and community outreach.
• Maintain safety and CPR/First Aid readiness.

About the Opportunity

The Activity Supervisor plans, implements and oversees the Activities program for our residents. Works in conjunction with the Activities staff to create a multi-faceted daily/monthly calendar that is appropriate for all care levels and includes events that encourage resident individuality, participation and leadership. • Ensures that the activities program promotes a feeling of independence, a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment for residents.
• Provides a well-balanced daily and monthly calendar of programs and events of interest to the residents. Routinely seeks and is open to resident feedback on activity likes/dislikes and on suggestions for future programs.
• Establishes and maintains community partnerships to offer a wide variety of choices for residents and collaborates with other organizations/businesses to promote joint programming.
• Provides opportunities for residents to engage in volunteer projects in the surrounding community.
• Ensures that activities supplies are ordered and available for use.
• Transports residents to various activities and events in the community.

Critical Success Factors

• Is energetic, personable, enthusiastic, creative and imaginative.
• Able to communicate intentions and directions to residents and staff and be an effective, empathetic listener.
• High school diploma or GED. Prefer college degree in Recreation Therapy or Human Services and/or two (2) years of equivalent work experience in the field.
• Prior experience in small group socialization and creative programming for older adults preferred.
• Prior experience in managing staff and volunteers.
• Current CPR/first aid certification.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and must have a clean driving record with no major violations.
