Atlas Healthcare, LLC is seeking an experienced Activity Director to lead the activities program at our Maryland long-term care facility. You will plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive schedule that enhances residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.

This role requires strong leadership, organization, and creativity to engage residents with varying abilities and dementia. You will collaborate with care teams, document progress, and ensure regulatory compliance

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in long-term care or recreational programming preferred.
• Activity Director certification or qualifying credentials as required by regulations.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work with older adults, including residents with dementia.
• Knowledge of person-centered care and recreational programming.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement a monthly activities calendar.
• Plan daily individual and group activities.
• Provide recreational, educational, social, spiritual, and therapeutic activities.
• Coordinate special events, holiday celebrations, birthday parties, and entertainment.
• Offer activities that accommodate residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Provide meaningful one-on-one activities for residents who cannot participate in group activities.
• Encourage resident participation while respecting individual choices and preferences.
• Complete activity assessments upon admission and as required.
• Identify residents’ interests, hobbies, preferences, and recreational needs.
• Develop individualized activity care plans.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings.
• Document resident participation, responses, and progress.
• Update activity plans when residents’ needs or abilities change.
• Ensure the activities program meets applicable federal and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate activity documentation and attendance records.
• Ensure activities are available seven days a week, including evenings and weekends as appropriate.
• Maintain documentation for regulatory surveys and audits.
• Ensure residents have access to meaningful activities regardless of their physical or cognitive limitations.
• Supervise and coordinate activities department employees.
• Develop staff schedules and assign responsibilities.
• Provide orientation and ongoing education to activities staff.
• Monitor staff performance and provide coaching when necessary.
• Ensure department employees follow facility policies and procedures.
• Promote teamwork and accountability within the department.
• Encourage resident and family involvement in activities.
• Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and responsible parties.
• Establish and support resident activity committees.
• Respond to resident concerns and activity-related requests.
• Promote resident choice, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
• Prepare and maintain the activities department budget.
• Order and maintain activity supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe activities environment.
• Coordinate volunteers and community organizations.
• Attend department meetings and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Assist with facility events and special projects.
