Ebenezer in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Life Enrichment Director for Meadow Woods Assisted Living to plan and evaluate activities that enhance residents’ physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cognitive well-being.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required for position.

Responsibilities

• Develops activity program reflecting resident interests and needs.

Job Overview

Ebenezer is hiring for an Life Enrichment Director for our beautiful Assisted Living building in south bloomington, MN. The Life Enrichment Director develops, plans, implements, and evaluates the life enrichment programming which provides for the optimization of resident physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cognitive well-being. Life Enrichment Directors help bring to life Ebenezer's cornerstones: Life Long Learning, Dimensions Program for Dementia Care, Crafted Culinary, Spiritual Care, Wellness, and Intergenerational Programming.

This position schedule includes:

• 80 hours per two weeks
• Day shift (Monday - Friday)
• 8:00am-4:30pm
• No weekends

As part of the Martin Luther Campus Senior Community, Meadow Woods Assisted Living is a residential setting by woodlands, wetlands, mall of america, and the Minnesota River Bluffs. Our 113 unit assisted, independent and memory care buildings are located in East Bloomington, MN near public transportation. Responsibilities

• Develops program and activities reflective of resident interests:
• Assesses resident areas of interest and need. Designs and implements programs to meet identified psychosocial needs of residents. Develops activity care plan based on resident areas of interest and needs and tracks resident engagement. Documents as required.
• Ensures, through observation and evaluation, that residents maintain a high level of engagement and independence.
• Plans, conducts and/or coordinates activities and special events.
• Orders and maintains supplies needed for activities.
• Encourages resident participation.
• Communicates and coordinates events in conjunction with other facility activities.
• Hires, trains, and supervises Life Enrichment Assistants.
• Assists in meeting the psychosocial needs of residents:
• Promotes independence of residents by offering choices and encouraging self-help skills.
• Encourages and assists residents in developing the confidence to participate in group activities.
• Assists residents in developing relationships and effectively socializing.
• Reports change in resident attitude, mood or physical status to appropriate staff.
• Communicates with family members as appropriate.
• Evaluates activity care plan ensuring that activities are completed appropriately and are suitable to reach and maintain the highest level of engagement and independence.
• Provides new resident orientation/assessment to determine interests/needs to design appropriate activity care plan.
• Coordinates community volunteers:
• Adheres to volunteer onboarding policies and procedures.
• Develops and maintains system to effectively utilize volunteers to enhance programs designed to meet psychosocial needs of residents.
• Recruits, trains and assigns volunteers within the building.
• Provides volunteer recognition for work performed.
• Assesses need for volunteer services and assigns as needed.
• Supervises volunteers to maintain a high quality of service.
• Develops relationships with local organizations and promotes their involvement with the facility.
• Drive Ebenezer van/bus for resident outings:
• Reviews and completes Vehicle Requirements Transporting Residents Checklist prior to each resident outing.
• Maintains a log of transportation services and tasks performed throughout the driving period.
• Responsible for the safety and welfare of passengers.
• Practices sound, safe judgment when performing transportation services including but not limited to fire/disaster procedures and infection control procedures.
• Recognizes and acts appropriately on safety hazards and incidents.
• Follows all laws with regard to operating a motor vehicle.
• Immediately reports any traffic violations or accidents.

Required Qualifications

• Associate Degree
• 2 years experience in Assisted Living or SNF programming

• Must complete and pass in-house transportation curriculum course and pass driving evaluation. within 30 Days
