Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Life Enrichment Coordinator to plan, organize, and direct programs addressing residents’ social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs. The role promotes available activities to residents and encourages participation.

You will oversee daily programs, design engaging activities, and manage monthly calendars while ensuring compliance with regulations. Experience with senior populations and NCCAP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in recreation therapy, COTA, education and/or nursing preferred.
• NCCAP certification preferred.
• Excellent English communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to a Life Enrichment philosophy that respects resident dignity, privacy and independence.
• Leads and oversees daily individual and group programs, tracking resident participation.
• Designs creative programs reflecting residents' needs and interests.
• Plans a monthly calendar with one-on-one and group activities to enrich residents.
• Develops and distributes monthly Life Enrichment schedules for residents to reference.
• Acknowledges residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and achievements.
• Manages supplies and oversees the Life Enrichment budget within guidelines.
• Ensures programs meet state and federal regulations.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Life Enrichment Coordinator to be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing individual and group programs to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of the Primrose Community residents. The Life Enrichment Coordinator promotes available programs to residents and encourages participation.

More about the position responsibilities:

• Adheres to and conveys a Life Enrichment philosophy that supports the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.


• Leads and/or oversees individual and group programs daily, encouraging and tracking resident participation at each program.


• Designs creative and engaging programs that are reflective of our residents' needs and interests.


• Plans a monthly calendar that includes one-on-one programs as well as group activities that will enrich the interests/health of our residents.


• Develops and distributes monthly Life Enrichment schedules to residents and posts for easy reference by residents.


• Acknowledges residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and special accomplishments.


• Orders needed supplies including oversight of the life enrichment budget to ensure that costs are maintained within budgetary guidelines.


• Ensures Life Enrichment Programs meet all state, federal, and other regulations.

What we're looking for:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.


• Rec Therapist, COTA, education and/or experience in the field of teaching or nursing is preferred.


• Certification by NCCAP (National Certification Council for Activity Professionals) is also preferred.


• Excellent Communication (oral and written) in English, organizational and time management skills.


• Minimum of one year working with senior population preferred but will consider previous experiences.


• Able and willing to work flexible hours. This position will require some weekends, holidays, and evenings.


• Basic typing skills along with basic knowledge of computer Microsoft Software (i.e. Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).


• Able to drive residents to outside activities on the Primrose Bus.


• Ability to speak effectively before groups of residents or associates of organization or outside professionals.
