Qualifications

• Must be knowledgeable about community resources, community events and other opportunities that will make the activity program interesting and challenging to residents.
• Ability to develop, plan and coordinate activity programs independently.
• Musically inclined and able to play a variety of instruments preferred.
• Six months previous work experience in a similar setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates activities for the residents.
• Leads two monthly Activity Committee meetings with residents.
• Develops a monthly activity calendar for residents and bulletin boards.
• Contacts new residents and assesses their abilities, needs and interests.
• Attends Care Plans (only in skilled nursing departments).
• Maintains daily contact with residents, staff, volunteers and families.
• Follows safety rules and keeps area clean and orderly.
• Supports Eden Alternative philosophy and follows customer service guidelines.
• Follows policy on TB testing and influenza vaccinations; attends in-services.
