Job summary

Avamere Skilled Advisors, LLC d/b/a Avamere Living in Sherwood, OR seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant for Memory Care. This full-time role supports the Life Enrichment Director to plan and run activities that enhance resident well‑being across independent living, assisted living and memory care communities.

Day shift Tuesday-Saturday; duties include designing activities, leading group and one-on-one sessions, documenting participation, coordinating with staff and families, and ensuring safety

Qualifications

• Must be at least 25 years old to drive company vehicle.
• Prefer experience in long-term care, geriatric rehab, sub-acute and/or critical care settings.
• Experience in electronic medical records documentation.
• Must hold an active and unencumbered Driver's License.
• Experience with volunteer work and/or activities work with the geriatric population.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• CPR/BLS certification active during employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing activities, including games, exercise, arts and crafts, music, and social events.
• Create activity schedules and calendars with diverse options for residents.
• Lead group activities and engage residents in one-on-one interactions.
• Maintain records of resident participation and feedback.
• Coordinate with staff and families to meet resident needs.
• Transport residents to activities and assist with setup/cleanup, attend staff meetings, and follow safety protocols.

Life Enrichment Assistant-Memory Care

Type: Full-Time

Shift/Schedule: Day shift, Tuesday-Saturday

Wage: $17.45-$22.77/hr DOE

Attendance bonus: The perfect attendance bonus in a pay period will be $100.00 for a full-time employee and $75.00 for a part-time employee.

Job Summary

The Life Enrichment Assistant works primarily with our Memory Care residents, and is responsible for assisting the Life Enrichment Director in planning, organizing, and implementing life enrichment, events and activities for residents, aiming to enhance their well‑being and engagement as required for an independent living, assisted living and/or memory care community.

Activity Planning & Implementation

• Assist in developing and implementing a diverse range of activities, including games, exercise programs, arts and crafts, music sessions, and social events.
• Create activity schedules and calendars, ensuring a variety of options to cater to different interests and abilities.
• Prepare activity areas, gather necessary supplies, and ensure a safe and enjoyable environment.

Resident Engagement

• Lead group activities and engage residents in one‑on‑one interactions.
• Encourage participation in activities and provide support to residents who may need assistance.
• Observe residents' responses to activities and report any changes in their needs or behavior to the appropriate personnel.

Documentation & Communication

• Maintain records of resident participation in activities, including attendance and feedback.
• Communicate with other staff members, volunteers, and families to coordinate activities and ensure resident needs are met.

Other Duties

• Transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Assist with setup and cleanup of activity areas.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements
