Job summary

Eskaton, a nonprofit aging leader in Northern California, seeks a WellPath program assistant to help plan and deliver resident activities with dignity and inclusion. You will document participation, adapt activities to abilities, and coordinate with volunteers to support meaningful enrichment.

Starting pay ranges from $19.40 per hour to $24.44 per hour, with a 401K matching program and comprehensive benefits. Prior elder-care recreation experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.
  • Experience working with the elderly in a recreational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Title XXII and OBRA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director of Resident Services in planning, organizing, and facilitating Wellness (WellPath) programs.
  • Supports creation of programs reflecting resident preferences and life stories with dignity and inclusion.
  • Contributes to resident plans of care with personalized, person-directed programming.
  • Documents resident attendance and engagement to inform future planning and quality standards.
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains program equipment and technology for safe, engaging activities.
  • Collaborates with volunteers, family members, and staff to ensure Life Enrichment programs run smoothly.

Essential Job Functions
  • Assists the Director of Resident Services in planning, organizing, and facilitating programs of the Wellness (WellPath) Program.
  • Supports the creation of programs that reflect resident preferences, strengths, and life stories, adapting activities to meet varying abilities and ensuring all residents can participate with dignity and success.
  • Contributes to resident plans of care by documenting individual interests, participation, and engagement patterns to support personalized, person-directed programming.
  • Accurately documents resident attendance and engagement in daily programs, ensuring records inform future planning and uphold Eskaton’s standards for quality and continuity of care.
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains program equipment and technology to enhance engagement and ensure smooth, safe operation of activities and events.
  • Collaborates with volunteers, family members, and fellow team members to ensure Life Enrichment programs run smoothly and reflect Eskaton’s Welcoming and Empowerment values through inclusion and teamwork.

Compensation

Starting pay ranges from $19.40 per hour - $24.44 per hour. Factors such as scope, responsibilities, experience, education, job-related skills, internal equity, and market considerations may influence base pay.

Qualifications

Education
High school graduation or equivalent G.E.D.

Training and Experience
Previous experience working with the elderly in a recreational setting preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of Title XXII and OBRA preferred. Understands the aspects of leading an activity.

Light Work

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.

The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
