Job summary

SMP Health – St. Catherine North in Fargo, ND is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to plan, lead, and support a range of activities that enhance residents’ physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and cognitive well-being.

You will build meaningful relationships, encourage engagement, and help create a vibrant community where residents feel connected, valued, and supported by a compassionate team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, customer service, education, or related fields preferred.
• Friendly, outgoing, and compassionate personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Creative, organized, and dependable.
• Experience working with older adults is a plus.
• Ability to encourage engagement and create meaningful resident interactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, organizing, and leading resident programs, activities, and special events.
• Encourage resident participation in group and individual activities.
• Support social, recreational, physical, spiritual, and cognitive wellness programs.
• Help transport residents to and from activities as needed.
• Assist with decorating and preparing activity spaces for events and celebrations.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers, and team members.
• Conduct one-on-one visits with residents who may be unable or reluctant to participate in group activities.
• Maintain activity supplies, calendars, and participation records.
• Support holiday celebrations, community events, and special programs.
• Promote resident dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life.

Pay & Benefits

$18.00 – $22.00 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Day shift hours (11am - 7pm)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation
