Job summary

PACE is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Therapist in engaging participants at a day center, offering arts, exercise, music, and outings. You will lead group and individualized activities designed to meet social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs while assisting with escorting participants to activities and events.

Responsibilities include developing the monthly activities calendar, planning special events, and working in a multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent exam.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a social or recreational program, full-time in an activities/life enrichment program in a healthcare setting for the elderly.
• Activity Certification from NCCAP or NAPPCC is a plus.
• Must possess effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in use of computer and technology systems.
• Outgoing, energetic, and able to engage participants in leisure activities.
• Professional conduct and high level of emotional intelligence.
• Able to engage with large group room volumes.
• Education on Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia is a plus.
• Event planning experience is a plus.

**SUMMARY:**The Life Enrichment Assistant assist and work directly with the Life Enrichment Therapist helping participants engage in meaningful day center activities. Activities are not limited but may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, exercise, music and other special activities/events.**SPECIFIC DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:*** Lead and facilitate group and individualized programming and activities for participant that are designed to meet the social, intellectual, physical, and spiritual needs and interest of each participant.* Assist with escorting participants to activities and community outings.* Assist in the development of the monthly activities calendar and special events.* Perform other duties as assigned.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*** At a minimum high school diploma or equivalent exam.* Minimum of 1 year experience in a social or recreational program, of which was full time in an activities/life enrichment program in a healthcare setting for the elderly.
