Job summary

PACE Southeast Michgan is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Therapist in delivering engaging activities for participants. You will help plan and lead group and individual programs spanning arts, crafts, outdoor activities, exercise and special events.

The role requires a minimum of 1 year in a social/recreational setting within a healthcare context for the elderly, with strong communication and computer skills, and a proactive, energetic approach to participant

Qualifications

• At a minimum high school diploma or equivalent exam.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a social or recreational program, of which was full time in an activities/life enrichment program in a healthcare setting for the elderly.
• Activity Assistant Certification is a plus from a recognizing body such as NCCAP, or NAPPCC is plus.
• Must possess effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in the use of computer and technology systems.
• Must be very outgoing, energetic, and able to engage participants in leisure activities.
• Professional conduct, high-achiever, emotionally intelligent/and aware.
• Able to engage with large room volumes.
• Education of Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia is a plus.
• Event-planning experience is a plus.
• Able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

The Life Enrichment Assistant assist and work directly with the Life Enrichment Therapist helping participants engage in meaningful day center activities. Activities are not limited but may include arts and crafts, outdoor activities, exercise, music and other special activities/events.
