Job summary

Bridgeway Park Superior Senior Living Community seeks a Life Enrichment Assistant to design and implement engaging activities for residents.

You will develop programs addressing physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual needs, coordinate with staff, and lead a team in planning events and volunteer activities. Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is required to support a vibrant community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certificate in activity programming preferred.
• Good physical health.
• Experience creating and coordinating activities for older adults.
• Ability to train, supervise, lead, and motivate people.
• Ability to delegate responsibility while maintaining oversight of daily activities.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a complex workload.
• Excellent oral and written communication with residents, staff and families as needed.
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement activities program to meet residents' physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual needs.
• Include large group, small group, and 1:1 activities, plus special events.
• Communicate programs and upcoming events to Manager/Executive Director and supervisors.
• Cultivate community resources and entertainers for events.
• Create monthly activity calendar with dates, times, and locations.
• Conduct and oversee activities, encouraging resident involvement.
• Coordinate and host special/holiday events; decorate accordingly.
• Maintain equipment within budget; arrange transportation for outings.
• Cultivate volunteer base through community relations.
• Train staff to conduct activities; encourage participation evenings/weekends.

Bridgeway Park Superior Senior Living Community is looking for an experienced Life Enrichment Assistant. The assistant develops, modifies, evaluates and implements activity programs for the community that embrace and fulfill the social needs and interests of the senior population.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program to help meet the physical, social, intellectual, artistic, and spiritual needs of the residents.
• Activity programming should include large group activities, small group activities, and 1:1 groupings, as well as special events.
• Communicate, advise, and inform the Manager/Executive Director and other department supervisors of activity programs and upcoming events.
• Cultivate community resources and entertainers to schedule various activities including special events.
• Create monthly activity calendar that reflects the varied interests of the residents and provides them with the dates, times, and location of programs.
• Conduct and/or oversee activities as needed, encouraging resident involvement.
• Coordinate and host special events, including holiday events. Decorate community according to those events.
• Maintain an adequate supply of equipment for regular activities, keeping within budgetary guidelines.
• Arrange transportation for regular and/or special outings.
• Cultivate opportunities for residents to engage in various community service projects.
• Develop and maintain a solid volunteer base through building relationships in the community, with staff, and resident family members.
• Train employees to conduct activities and encourage resident participation, especially during evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Certificate in activity programming or equivalent preferable, college education a plus.
• Good physical health.
