Job summary

Oak Hammock at the University of Florida is seeking a Life Enrichment/Activities Assistant to organize and supervise life-enriching activities for Health Pavilion residents across Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Support. You will coordinate campus and off-campus events, ensuring safety and adherence to policies.

The role requires a year of healthcare-related work, excellent interpersonal skills, and a compassionate, energetic approach to diverse seniors.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year working in a healthcare-related field.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to staff, residents, families, and community members.
• Must be empathetic, energetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
• All applicants must complete and pass a Level II Background Check and Drug Screening

Responsibilities

• Organize the life-enriching programming for Health Pavilion residents in Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living, and Memory Support.
• Assist in organization and supervision of all on-campus and off-campus activities planned in the Health Pavilion.
• Ensure these events are performed within established policies and procedures, ensuring the safety of each resident.

Life Enrichment/Activities Assistant Job Qualifications and Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Valid Driver’s License

Must have a minimum of one year working in a healthcare-associated field, preferably long-term care.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to staff, residents, families, and community members.

Must be empathetic, energetic and have an affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
