Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Life Enrichment Assistant to support planning and execution of recreation programs that meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of residents. The role proactively engages residents and encourages participation in community events.

Responsibilities include coordinating monthly events, assisting with outings, decorating for occasions, and building a resident volunteer program.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; Activity Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year working with senior population preferred.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) in English; strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Able to drive residents to outside activities using Primrose Van.
• Able to speak effectively to groups of residents and external professionals.

The Life Enrichment Assistant proactively interacts with residents and encourages participation in community events

More about the position requirements:

• Help with executing a creative and exciting life enrichment program to meet the needs, interests, and health of our residents.
• Tasks included, but are not limited to:
• • Encourages resident participation with all activities.
  • Coordinates monthly special events at the community.
  • Assists with organizing outings within the local city or town.
  • Decorates the facility for special occasions and events.
  • Find volunteers and maintain the resident volunteer program.
• Distributes monthly life enrichment schedules to residents and posts them in the community for easy reference by residents.
• Acknowledges residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and special accomplishments.

What we're looking for:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required. Activity Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of one year working with senior population preferred but will consider previous experiences.
• Excellent Communication (oral and written) in English, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of residents, associates of organizations or outside professionals.
• Basic typing skills, along with basic knowledge of computer Microsoft Software (i.e., Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Able to drive residents to outside activities in Primrose Van.
• Enjoys working with and building rapport with seniors.

Opportunities for part-time hours. Approximately 16 hours per week. Weekend shifts required.

Available shifts: days.
