Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to support planning and execution of recreation programs for residents. You will encourage participation, coordinate events, and assist with outings while building rapport with seniors and staff.

The role requires effective communication, organizational skills, and a caring approach to enhance residents’ social, emotional, and cognitive well-being. Full-time hours with daytime shifts offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; Activity Certification preferred.
• Minimum one year working with seniors preferred.
• Excellent English communication, organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of residents and others.
• Basic computer skills: MS Publisher, Word, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Execute a creative and engaging life enrichment program for residents.
• Coordinate monthly special events at the community.
• Assist with organizing outings within the local area.
• Decorate the facility for special occasions and events.
• Find volunteers and manage the resident volunteer program.
• Distribute monthly life enrichment schedules to residents and post them.
• Acknowledge and celebrate residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and achievements.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Life Enrichment Assistant toberesponsible forassisting with the planning and execution of individual and group recreation programs that serve to meet the social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of Primrose residents. The Life Enrichment Assistant proactively interacts with residents and encourages participation in community events

More about the position requirements:

• Tasks included, but are not limited to:
• • Encourages resident participation with all activities.
  • Coordinates monthly special events at the community.
  • Assists with organizing outings within the local city or town.
  • Decorates the facility for special occasions and events.
  • Find volunteers and maintain the resident volunteer program.
• Distributes monthly life enrichment schedules to residents and posts them in the community for easy reference by residents.
• Acknowledges residents’ birthdays, anniversaries, and special accomplishments.

What we're looking for:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required. Activity Certification is preferred.
• Minimum of one year working with senior population preferred but will consider previous experiences.
• Excellent Communication (oral and written) in English, organizational and time management skills
• Ability to speak effectively to groups of residents, associates of organizations or outside professionals.
• Basic typing skills, along with basic knowledge of computer Microsoft Software (i.e., Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Able to drive residents to outside activities in Primrose Van.
• Enjoys working with and building rapport with seniors.
