Job summary

Franciscan Ministries is seeking an Activities Assistant to enhance the quality of life for residents through engaging activities and therapeutic engagement opportunities. The role involves promoting Life Enrichment services, assisting with daily activities, and supporting administrative tasks within the Life Enrichment department.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED, up to 1 year of experience with seniors, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate with residents, families and staff with joy, compassion, and professionalism.
• Generate interest and enthusiasm for activities and events.
• Proficient with basic technology systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for a culture of engagement and promote Life Enrichment services.
• Encourage residents to participate in daily activities and events.
• Assist with administrative tasks (calendars, phones, copying, faxing).
• Lead and assist with group and one-on-one activities.
• Plan, develop, organize, implement and evaluate programs.
• Escort residents and accompany them on outings and appointments.
• Complete documentation for compliance and recording (plans, notes, attendance).
• Maintain activity spaces and assist with seasonal decorations.
